In honor of Mother's Day this weekend, AZFoothills.com shares one of our favorite Valley moms each day leading up to the holiday. Today, meet Fairly (a k a Momma D) Dickinson, the mother and No. 1 fan of Alex Cardineau, owner and operator of Sip Coffee and Beer.

What is your biggest joy in being a mom? Seeing my children mature into happy healthy and productive adults.

Biggest struggle? Not being able to wave a wand and take away their pain.

What has been your proudest moment as a mother? Receiving compliments from other parents or people bragging about my children.

Looking back, what advice would you give to yourself as a new mom?  Be very careful to be attuned to and to pay close attention to each individual child’s specific needs.

Describe your perfect day with your family.  Being at home and just being together.

How do you like to celebrate Mother’s Day?  Home or out to eat with the Family

Family-favorite restaurant: Sip Coffee and Beer Garage And House; Four Peaks Brewery; The Original Burrito and Company; Chuck Box; Pizzeria Bianco;

Spot to be outdoors: Hiking and jeeping in Sedona or at the beach in California. Really just anywhere I get to be with my kids.

Little-known gem for families: Duh, obviously Sip! 

Family-favorite resort: The Ventana Inn, Big Sur, Calif. 

Annual family event: Christmas and/or Thanksgiving. Together when everyone has some time off. Full gamily gathering times are hard to schedule when everyone is grown and working full time with their own family.
