Rachel Roland is a mom on a mission - exploring beautiful Arizona (and beyond!) with her two little companions, Jeremiah and Sarah, in search of the best restaurants, attractions, and products for you and your children. See what she has in store for your family today!

Yes, there is a Sasquatch in Scottsdale - well, a burger called the Sasquatch that is.   A Black Angus burger with fried onion topped with cheese and served on two grilled cheese sandwiches instead of a bun.  It's quite a sandwich, to be sure, and only available at Scottsdale's rustic bar/grill The Lodge.

I decided to visit The Lodge after seeing the Sasquatch burger featured on a 'best in America' show as one of the top sandwiches in the country.  Obviously, it's a giant burger - and there's only one person I know who would be willing to take on such a challenging meal - my younger brother.

This is my brother, Steve, with Jeremiah, Sarah, and the Sasquatch that stands prominently outside The Lodge.  Inside, it's like a log cabin has been transported to the Scottsdale 'club' district from the middle of the forest.  It's a very interesting setting for this part of town, indeed.   Seating is kind of sparse - this is definitely more of a bar and less of a restaurant - but we were able to secure a large table in the bar area for our party of 6.

My brother ordered the Sasquatch with zero hesitation - and although it was difficult to eat, he said it was fantastic.  I had the Bleu Cheese and Bacon burger, and I have to agree - it was one of the best burgers I've had - cooked well, good seasoning, and a great taste.

Want to visit?  The Lodge is located at 4422 N. 75th Street in Scottsdale - it's pretty hard to miss!  Although we visited with Jeremiah and Sarah, I would probably recommend leaving the children at home if you're going to visit.  The food is great, and the atmosphere is fun, but even during lunch there were patrons there who used language that I didn't want around my children...so...leave the kiddos at home, and see if you can conquer the Sasquatch!
