Rachel Roland is a mom on a mission - exploring beautiful Arizona (and beyond!) with her two little companions, Jeremiah and Sarah, in search of the best restaurants, attractions, and products for you and your children. See what she has in store for your family today!

Due to our current 'holiday' state, it's difficult to experience Phoenix and Arizona activities right now - but there are still a lot of fun activities for families here in Washington!   One such event is the 'Day Out With Thomas' which, in Washington, is being held at the Northwest Railway Museum on July 20th, 21st and 22nd in Snoqualmie, Washington.  We were able to attend the first weekend it was open here in Washington, and Jeremiah and Sarah loved everything about their Day Out With Thomas!

Obviously, there were multiple photo opportunities, with not just Thomas but Sir Topham Hatt as well.  There are craft and MEGA BLOCKS to build with, and our park had a bouncy house, too.  There was a stage with live entertainment - silly songs that our kids just love - and fun food as well.   The biggest and most exciting event at the Day Out With Thomas, though, was certainly when we had the opportunity to ride on Thomas the Train.

Since this is a travelling event, the train rides themselves will vary as far as how far and how long you'll travel, but ours was approximately 20 minutes.  We went past the breathtaking and amazing Snoqualmie Falls (which is apparently taller, though not wider, than Niagra Falls) and then back.  All of the kids received a 'Jr. Conductor' certificate at the end of the train ride.

Naturally, you can't visit a travelling show like Day Out With Thomas without purchasing a little Thomas souvenir .  Sarah loves her little lunchbox (or purse, depending on the day), and Jeremiah has nearly covered himself in Thomas™ temporary tattoos.   It was a fun day that I'm sure we won't soon forget - and I'm so thankful we had the chance to visit!

Here's the sad news for my Arizona  readers - the Day Out With Thomas tour will not be coming to Arizona this year...but, if you're travelling, I'm fairly certain you'll find one near you - it's hitting lots of major cities in the more temperate and friendly summer climates than our own.   You can find one near you on their website.  If you have train enthusiasts in your family, I'm fairly certain they'll love this attraction!!
