Rachel Roland is a mom on a mission - exploring beautiful Arizona (and beyond!) with her two little companions, Jeremiah and Sarah, in search of the best restaurants, attractions, and products for you and your children. See what she has in store for your family today!

Love locally grown produce? What about picking your own locally grown produce? If so, you need to head out to Schnepf Farms in Queen Creek for their annual Peach Festival! This upcoming weekend (May 19th and 20th) is the last weekend to pick your own delicious organic peaches at $2 per pound. (Trust me, it's easy to pick 10 pounds!!) Bring your wagon and sunscreen, because this is somewhere you'll be spending quite a bit of time!

In addition to picking peaches, which Jeremiah and Sarah certainly enjoyed, there are also several kiddie rides - a small roller coaster that packs more of a punch than expected (take it from me), some mini-airplanes, and swings. If you purchase a wristband (they were being sold at the rides for $10), your kids - and you - can ride any and all the rides as many times as you'd like. If your children are anything like mine, that means they'll be getting off the ride and getting right back in line.

Exploring Schnepf Farms, even early in the day, can be warm. They have a great play area in addition to the rides, but Jeremiah and Sarah could have slid down these water slide bouncy houses all day! They were soaked, but in the warm May sun, they dried quickly. If you think your kids will want to do this, bring along extra clothes and towels.

There are so many other things to do and explore at Schnepf Farms - there's the train, that takes you around the entire property, there's the food (Peachy Pancakes, anyone?), there's many local vendors selling everything from cookies to nuts to clothing. You can purchase peachy goodies - pies, cinnamon rolls, even chocolate chip cookies at the General Store, and explore the history of Schnepf Farms in the historic farmhouse where the original Schnepfs lived!

Schnepf Farms is located at 24810 S. Rittenhouse Road in Queen Creek. It took us about an hour to get to Schnepf Farms from central Phoenix. Admission is free, and gates open at 7:30am for picking. The rides start operating at 9am.

Oh, and the peaches? They are delicious. The kids couldn't stop picking them and they can't wait to eat more while we wait for them to ripen. Head out to Schnepf Farms and pick some yourself!
