Guess what?!? Today is my birthday! As the years pass, I'm less bothered by the fact that I'm getting older, even with Jeremiah's very loud "31 is a HIGH number, Mommy!" this morning. I thought it might be fun to check out what Arizona has to offer in terms of fabulous, luxurious birthday gifts for even the most picky Mom!
You just cannot celebrate a birthday without cake, right? Pictured above is a custom Tammie Coe cake. I'm fairly certain you've heard of Tammie Coe - she's become a valley institution with her beautiful and delicious pastries. She was also recently named one of Arizona Foothills Magazine's "Women Who Move the Valley." I can bake the basics - cookies, bread, cakes, but nothing that's ever come out of my kitchen looks ANYTHING like what she creates.
Sometimes, after a particularly exhausting day, I just want to run away to the spa and spend the day in quiet solitude being pampered. I can guarantee any mom would be thrilled with a spa day at the Joya Spa at the InterContinential Montelucia Resort. They have 100 minute "Restorative Sleep Massage," that sounds (pardon the pun) dreamy. What mom couldn't use more restful sleep? Then there's the Amira Jewel Facial, a 110 minute Moroccan inspired treatment with anti-aging properties. Even though I don't mind getting older, I do mind those little wrinkles starting to appear around my eyes!
Last, but certainly not least, there's always jewelry! Molina Fine Jewelers is the place to find beautiful, luxurious, and one of a kind pieces that will surely take her breath away. My heart might have stopped a little at this lovely bangle - who wouldn't want to have this on their wrist? They have rings, necklaces, and earrings as well, if bracelets aren't your thing.
I'll be honest, though. These things are lovely - and I could really use a spa day - but I'm pretty sure I'm not getting any of these. I'm blessed with a healthy family, sweet friends, and really have everything I could ever want. It is fun to wish though!
