Located in the highly desirable Arcadia neighborhood in Phoenix, Beckett's Table, provides an excellent escape from typical fare. It's in an unassuming store front, along with a few other businesses, but as you walk up, you realize this is no normal storefront restaurant.

Inside, it's warm, inviting, intimate, and cozy. The outside patio has a funky open fireplace and spacious seating, but it was too chilly for us to sit outside on the evening we visited.

I have to preface my review with this - my children are very used to going out to eat and the expectations we have for their behavior when we are at a restaurant. If your children are not, you might want to wait until they are more comfortable in a restaurant before bringing them to dine at Beckett's Table. There are no children's cups or coloring pages - the focus is on spending time together and having conversations with each other.

The menu at Beckett's Table is varied and innovative - from my local just-picked salad (with vegetables grown on their acerage off the 303), to my husbands rich and succulent pork osso buco confit - the options are limitless. They can make many of the dishes gluten free or vegetarian, according to your preferences.

The kids menu is also great - there's the 'usual' - grilled cheese, peanut butter and jelly, macaroni and cheese - but there's also options like grilled chicken skewers and pasta with red sauce. Most of the kids menu items come with a choice of fruit or french fries, as well as a beverage and a cookie for dessert. My children split the slider meal, and each of their plates came with a generous helping of fresh fruit. I liked that the apples were freshly sliced and hadn't even begun to brown when their meals were served.

As for dessert, Beckett's Table certainly delivers sweets that rival their creative savory dishes. I had the 'Award Winning Fig & Pecan Pie' which was phenomenal - the whole reason I ordered a salad for dinner was so I could indulge in their delicious dessert menu. It was well worth it - the figs and pecans were a delightful and unexpected combination.

My take? Definitely visit if you're in the neighborhood - and chances are, you're not too far away. Beckett's Table is centrally located at 3717 E Indian School Road, in Phoenix. They're a dinner-only establishment, and are open after 5pm Tuesday-Sunday (closed Mondays.) They're great for a date night or for a fun family dinner.
