Family Drumming Workshop at the MIM

This Sunday, learn the basic techniques of African, Latin and pop-music hand-drumming at the Musical Instrument Museum’s family drumming workshop. The lesson will be taught by master instructor Frank Thompson, and sessions begin at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. at a cost of $12 per participant over the age of 3. No experience is necessary and, at the end of the lesson, everyone will be invited to show off their new skills in a class-wide jam session.

McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park Summer Concert

What better way to wrap up Father’s Day than with a relaxing outdoor concert? Bring the whole family to McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park Sunday evening from 7:30 to 9 p.m. to enjoy a live Eagles tribute by band One of Those Nights. Food will be available for purchase, and kids can ride the carousel or take a ride on one of the park’s two trains for $2.
