17th Annual Melrose Street Fair

On March 2 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Seventh Avenue Merchants Association presents the 17th Annual Melrose Street Fair. The event takes place throughout the entire Melrose District – which is located along 7th Avenue from Camelback to Indian School. Open to the public and free to attend, the day-long event will feature more than 200 booths by local artisans and independent businesses; the “Melrose Patio” craft beer garden sponsored by Huss Brewing; a kid’s zone with face painting, video gaming truck, and more; and live entertainment with local bands.

eSports Showcase

Desert Ridge Marketplace has teamed up with Bravous Youth Sports League, Arizona’s first youth eSports association, to host the ultimate free eSports Showcase on Saturday, March 2, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the District Stage. Gamers will be able to play either Mario Kart 8 Deluxe or Super Smash Bros., and participants in the competition will have practice time with professional coaches to learn tips and tricks. Winner will receive notoriety and a prize from Desert Ridge Marketplace tenants. This event is open to the public. Space is limited and guests can RSVP at shopdesertridge.com/event/esports.

Spring into Uptown Plaza

Uptown Plaza is welcoming spring with a series of events every Saturday in March. Come for movies, music and yoga in the courtyard, and stay for lunch or dinner at one of the plaza's 11 restaurants or browse the offerings from on-site retailers on-site. At 6 p.m., take in a showing of “The Sandlot.” Plus, there will be music in the courtyard from 4 to 7 p.m.

“Grease School Edition”

Scottsdale’s Desert Stages Theatre hosts “Grease School Edition”—a family-friendly adaptation of the 1971 musical “Grease,” performed by actors ages 3 to 19—Fridays and Saturdays, at 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m. through March 24. Tickets available here.

Arizona Renaissance Festival

Get ready to be transported back to the 16th century as one of the largest and most picturesque renaissance festivals is now in town. The Arizona Renaissance Festival runs every Saturday and Sunday through March 31 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Roam the 30-acre festival village filled with whimsical castles, cottages and pubs, take in 14 stages of nonstop performances of music, mermaids, merriment, dance, acrobatics and comedy and cheer on knights during the jousting tournaments.
