The Salt River Fields at Talking Stick Stadium

The Salt River Fields at Talking Stick is a $100 million baseball complex designed by Harwood K. Smith Inc. and officially opens Saturday, Feb. 26th for its first game at 1:10 p.m. with the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Colorado Rockies. The stadium is on the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, the first major league baseball spring training facility to be built on Indian land. The stadium sits on 140 acres just northwest of Indian Bend and the 101, formerly the Pavilion Lakes Golf Club. It holds 11,000 people, with 12 practice fields and office buildings that include Major and Minor League clubhouses, training facilities and offices for both the Diamondbacks and Rockies. This is not like any other complex; it has great fan access for autographs and game watching and also manifests the rich culture and history of Pima and Maricopa Indian tribes.

Opening day weekend begins Friday, Feb. 25th at 1:05 p.m. with the Giants and Diamondbacks at Scottsdale Stadium. So get ready for hot dogs, beer and baseball!
