Christmas in the Rainforest at Butterfly Wonderland
Already a gem of the Valley, Butterfly Wonderland is intensifying its lively environment with Christmas in the Rainforest. From Nov. 29 to Dec. 30, Butterfly Wonderland is complementing the beauty of their colorful butterflies with festive décor. The exhibit’s Christmas tree will be dressed in blue, silver and white, inspired by the blue morpho butterfly. There will also be unique opportunities to view hand-blown glass in the Garden art exhibit created by Scottsdale’s very own, Newt Grover. Additionally, Butterfly Princess Leslie Camp will be on site for meet and greets as Native American flute player, Aaron White and classical violinist, Jonathan Levingston plays the season’s spirited sound.
Merry Main Street in Downtown Mesa
Beginning Nov. 29, Downtown Mesa will transform into a Winter Wonderland. Merry Main Street will kick off the season with a 5 p.m. lighting of a nearly four-story tall Christmas tree, located on Macdonald just north of Main Street. Upon visiting Downtown Mesa, expect a 5,000-sq.-ft. ice rink, Christmas market and Santa selfie stations. Every Friday and Saturday, Jack Frost’s Food Truck Forest will be at Pioneer Park serving up delicious entrees for visitors to enjoy as they watch a holiday movie or ride on the Main Street Express train. On Dec. 6, 7, 13 and 14, Merry Main Street is encouraging guests of all ages to throw on their comfiest pajamas in preparation of a Polar Express-themed light rail car ride. The ride will include cookies, sing-alongs and a chance to meet Santa.
