AFM: Tell us more about pARTy 2014 as a Gala opening for Phoenix Art Museum.

EG: On March 22, Phoenix Art Museum will be hosting its annual fundraiser, the pARTy. As a board, this year we have decided to move the event from its traditional date in November in order for it to be the gala opening for the new Hollywood Costume exhibit. The exhibit was created by Academy Award-nominated costume designer Deborah Landis, and has hit major success at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Now residing at the Richmond, Virginia Museum, Phoenix will be the only other U.S. city to feature the exhibit.

AFM: What are some pARTy details you can share?

EG: The theme of the pARTy this year is "Hollywood Glamour," in honor of the opening Hollywood Costume exhibit. The pARTy will begin with cocktails and Hors d'oeuvres in Cummings Great Hall with a relaxed, social atmosphere to stroll the museum and visit with friends. The pARTy will then move to the Greenbaum lobby to see a featured structure by Angelic Grove made specifically for this event. Following is the glamorous Hollywood Red Carpet pARTy, with dancing, delicious choices of wine, and meal options prepared by M Catering. The James Gang band, who have recently played at Jimmy Kimmel’s wedding, will be performing live for the first time in Arizona.

AFM: Where do the funds go from this fundraising event?

EG: Proceeds from this event will be used to benefit the museum's permanent and traveling exhibitions, continue educational outreach programs, and further the museum's mission to be a destination and connect people to great art from around the world. The pARTy is almost completely filled for the year! Few table are available, and prices range from $50,000 to $7,500. Purchase tickets now so as not to miss out on this Hollywood Glamour event.
