JustWorld International is an organization that aids struggling areas of Honduras, Cambodia, and Guatemala. The organization has ambassadors who network to provide nourishment, hygiene, education, and vocational programs to the children in these impoverished areas. Arizona Foothills Magazine interviews ambassador Sammy Waslewski for an inside look at what this organization accomplishes.

AFM: Do you have any personal history with this organization?

SW: I actually did not begin this organization, but am simply an ambassador. I joined the organization in 2011.

AFM: What is the most important aspect of your organization?

SW: The most important aspects of this organization are the nutrition, education, health and hygiene, and leadership and cultural programs for children in impoverished communities. JustWorld's three main partners are Honduras (since 2003), Cambodia (since 2004), and Guatemala (since 2008).

AFM: How can the community help?

SW: The simplest way the community can help is to donate!  It is amazing how much good can be done with a donation.  For example, a $500 donation can provide 400 students in Cambodia with purified drinking water for a year.  In Guatemala, $500 can provide the clinic with a much-needed pediatric scale, otoscope, nasal syringes, measuring tapes, and a child size stethoscope.  However, even if you can't donate, just spreading the word about this organization helps a great deal!  Awareness is one of the most powerful aids in supporting this cause.

AFM: Where do you see the future going for this organization?

SW: Already this organization has an incredible support system.  For example, Eric Lamaze, Daniel Bluman, Laura Kraut, Helen McNaught, Reed Kessler, and more!  I see JustWorld's influence expanding to all corners of the globe and as a result I see the situations of impoverished nations greatly improving due to the expansion of awareness and the willingness of global citizens to aid the cause.
