The new Banner Health Children's Medical Center was named May 20 after the Cardons, a Mesa family who made a $10 million contribution last fall to the $356 million expansion. The Cardon Children's Medical Center will be the newest hospital in the Banner Health family, and a huge development in pediatric care in Arizona. The family’s generous gift, officially gifted by Wilford Allen and Phyllis Reneer Cardon, is the largest contribution to date to the nonprofit Banner Health Foundation and is one of the largest gifts ever to children’s healthcare in Arizona.
