Dr. Steven Lipsky: The founder of Doctor Housecalls of Paradise Valley arrives in style—a Porsche Cayenne S, to be exact.

“I decided to take control of my life and practice again,” Dr. Steven Lipsky says. With that, the local doctor decided to bring traditional housecalls back to Arizona, providing care to residents of Paradise Valley, Phoenix and Scottsdale with his practice, Doctor Housecalls of Paradise Valley. The company promises that “peace of mind will be on its way”—and it comes your way in style. This mobile physician arrives in a luxury four-wheel drive Porsche Cayenne S stocked with every medical supply one would find in an urgent care facility. Once the doctor has arrived, a wide array of services, including lab tests, immunizations, dispensing of medicine and treatments of pain and illness, can be performed.
Lipsky founded his practice in March 2010 after working at a Valley hospital and hit the road with Doctor Housecalls of Paradise Valley in July. Lipsky, a New York University School of Medicine graduate, was raised on the East Coast and moved to Arizona to do his clinical at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Thirty-five years later, Lipsky still practices medicine in the Valley. Lipsky will be married to his wife, Janet, for 30 years this month. The Paradise Valley couple has a grown daughter, Alyssa.
Like any upstanding doctor, Lipsky says he prides himself on providing his patients with comfort. C.C. Goldwater, granddaughter of former senator Barry Goldwater, is a patient of Lipsky and says that she enjoys the convenience and flexibility that his services offer, especially because she is a fairly private person. “He is really experienced,” Goldwater says. “I can call him on weekends, and I don’t have to go to the hospital and sit in those hard hospital chairs for seven hours.”
Currently, Lipsky is the primary care provider for Doctor Housecalls of Paradise Valley, which provides care to more than 30 Valley hotels including Hotel Valley Ho, Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort & Spa and the Arizona Biltmore. “It was easier just to be the doctor,” says Lipsky, whose off time is spent swimming, shooting, horseback riding and watching movies. “Now I have to be the secretary, the nurse and the pharmacist.” Lipsky refers to his practice as “his baby” and hopes for an expansion of more mobile units and board-certified physicians in the future.
