Gerard's Paella Y Tapas

Both Hotel E and the Flamingo have location on their side and are within walking distance to a slew of can’t-miss dining destinations in downtown Santa Rosa. Perch & Plow, with its quirky art, inventive cocktails and picturesque small plates, looks like it wandered into Courthouse Square from Manhattan, while Gerard’s Paella Y Tapas whips up delicious and comforting paella (which is shareable, though you’ll want it all to yourself) and a refreshing selection of sangrias. Noble Folk Ice Cream & Pie Bar, mere steps from both Perch & Plow and Gerard’s, scoops up small-batch ice cream in flavors like Lucky Charms, black sesame-coconut and salted caramel for a sweet—and social media-worthy—after-dinner treat.

Known for its world-famous Pliny the Elder Double IPA, Russian River Brewing Company is at the top of the list for beer aficionados (in February, you’ll likely spy a line around its building of folks awaiting the beloved Pliny the Younger release—in the rain, no less). Dog-friendly Third Street Aleworks has been a Santa Rosa staple for more than two decandes and likewise impresses beer drinkers with its lineup of Anglo-Celtic- and West Coast-style ales. For breakfast, nothing beats an old-school diner, and cozy Jeffrey’s Hillside Cafe and Mac’s Deli & Cafe are two that are worth the wait.
