On Thursday, October 30, Western Spirit is welcoming author and retired University of Arizona Professor Ann Hedlund for an evening program celebrating the life and work of artist Mac Schweitzer. A cultural anthropologist and former curator at Western Spirit, Ann offers both personal connection and scholarly insight as she shares the story of her late mother-in-law, whose art captured the spirit of the Southwest through vivid landscapes, wildlife studies, and expressive cultural scenes. This program complements the exhibition Mac Schweitzer: A Southwest Maverick and Her Art and will conclude with a book signing of Ann’s accompanying publication.
