Description

On Thursday June 8, from 6:30-9 p.m., the Scottsdale Gallery Association (SGA) is pleased to present its specially themed June Days Gold Palette ArtWalk, which takes place throughout the Scottsdale Arts District — along Main St. from Scottsdale Rd. to Goldwater Blvd. and north of Indian School Rd. on Marshall Way to 5th Ave.

The ArtWalk corelates with the city of Scottsdale’s June Days summer spectacular, which serves as an opportunity to celebrate the season throughout Old Town. During the ArtWalk, guests are encouraged to enjoy a cool event featuring live entertainment an art that evoke all the good vibes of summertime!

“Even though it may feel like it, summer is not quite here yet,” says Scottsdale Gallery Association President French Thompson. “But the vibe of summertime — relaxing, enjoyment and just appreciation for the season is already alive and well in the Scottsdale Arts District! We look forward to celebrating the season and June Days with the community and art enthusiasts during this event.”

In addition to live entertainment and refreshing surprises throughout the Scottsdale Arts District, participating galleries will host their own in-gallery events including:

Carstens Fine Art Studio & Gallery

7100 E. Main St., #B

During the ArtWalk, guests are invited to come in and cool down while enjoying the soothing melodies of professional harpist Jocelyn Obermeyer as she performs live inside the gallery.

French Designer Jeweler

7148 E. Main St.

French Designer Jeweler specializes in colored gems, which are much rarer and more beautiful than diamonds. As a nod to the vibrancy of the season, French Designer Jeweler will be highlighting the beauty of colored gems throughout June from the likes of artists Alex Sepkus, Barbara Heinrich and Petra Class who use beautiful colored gemstones in their work.

The Marshall Gallery

7106 E. Main St.

During the June Days ArtWalk, The Marshall Gallery hosts artists Joseph Maruska and Paige Pierson, whose exceptional art represents a wide range of painting styles that showcase realism and abstraction. Maruska’s abstract pieces have layers of texture and depth perfect for letting the eye wander. Capturing the beauty of the desert, Pierson’s work blends incredible landscapes with hyper-realistic painting. Guests are invited to come in for a complimentary beverage, meet the artists and watch them live paint during the event.

On the Edge Gallery

7045 E. Main St.

On the Edge Gallery celebrates warmth, a lightness of spirit and a fresh focus on fun during the June Days ArtWalk. Guests are invited to meet four innovative artists — Shelly Hackett, Tracy Laasch, Vicki McKenna and Cindy Snider — who bring warm weather vitality to the gallery through their art. Guests can meet these artists, explore their creations and take home some happy, summery art home.

The Signature Gallery

7177 E. Main St.

ArtWalk attendees can view the gallery’s impressive new collection from internationally recognized impressionist painter Robert Hagan. The gallery will be showcasing Hagan’s recent creations and invite guests to enjoy refreshments during this Sonoran summer evening in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale.

Wilde Meyer Gallery
4142 N. Marshall Way

In conjunction with the city of Scottsdale’s “June Days” Wilde Meyer Gallery is pleased to present a group show of summery art during the ArtWalk.

In partnership with the City of Scottsdale, the SGA also presents multiple Gold Palette ArtWalk events per year that feature a dedicated theme and activities specific to each theme including demonstrations, live entertainment and more. The Scottsdale Gallery Association also hosts its weekly ArtWalk most every Thursday evening from 7-9 p.m. For more information, visit scottsdalegalleries.com.
