Get the Thanksgiving celebration started early with a Turkey Bowl! Skylanes Boutique Bowling Club in Old Town Scottsdale is hosting its 2nd annual Turkey Bowl on Wednesday, November 27 from 6-8 pm with proceeds benefitting the Salvation Army's Christmas Angels program. The Turkey Bowl will also have a $2,500 cash grand prize for the bowler who records three strikes in the final round.
For a $20 entry fee, participants have the opportunity to bowl 3 balls and a frozen turkey. Participants who bowl three strikes in a row (known as a turkey) move to the final round. In the finals, the bowler who records another three consecutive strikes will win the $2,500 cash prize.
Additionally, anyone who can bowl a strike with his or her frozen turkey will receive a $50 gift card.
The Salvation Army Christmas Angels program has been providing children in need with Christmas cheer for over 30 years. The Christmas Angels program has Christmas trees at 14 Arizona shopping malls; shoppers can take a tag off the tree, find the gift and return it to the Salvation Army volunteers. The organization will then wrap the present and ensure that it lands in the hands of a child who might otherwise go without a gift this holiday season. The money raised from Skylanes' Turkey Bowl will help to purchase gifts for children whose names were not pulled from a tree during the holiday season.
