The historic monOrchid in downtown Phoenix is excited to announce the launch of the Fruit Loop Gallery this Friday, October 25. The gallery will be curated by Kenny Barrett and is located inside the new entrance of the monOrchid, located at 214 E Roosevelt St in Phoenix in the heart of Roosevelt Row.

Exhibits in the space will change quarterly and first up is Bearadigm Shift. Debuting this Friday, the exhibit features a six foot tall enlightened bear suspended from the ceiling within a tunnel of brilliant colored lines and lights that people must navigate through to get into monOrchid. The work is from local artist Tara Logsdon, a Phoenix-based graphic artist whose artwork often addresses commercialism, her environment and bears. You can see more of her work at www.bearmy.com.

Those interested in attending the free opening this Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. can register here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/bearadigm-shift-tickets-77242451251. Bearadigm Shift will be up through January.

The Fruit Loop, an immersive and experiential, 360-degree art installation at monOrchid’s newly constructed entrance will feature a different local, regional or national artist quarterly. It was fondly named to pay homage to Phoenix’s LGBTQ history. Long before drag-performance-art became a part of mainstream pop-culture, it could be found in dive bars on the fringe of Downtown Phoenix. Originally coined by police officers working the area, the Fruit Loop spanned Roosevelt and Portland streets between First and Third streets. The monOrchid is owned by True North Studio. Thank you, your coverage is welcomed and appreciated.
