Guests of the inaugural Valley of the Sun Gala benefiting the Marine Raider Foundation will want to opt for a carry-on instead of a clutch the evening of October 5 at Chateau Luxe. The night of fundraising, dinner and inspirational guest speakers will culminate with a lucky couple being whisked away in a private jet by Cutter Aviation for a two-night getaway in Santa Barbara. The event will celebrate and raise awareness about special operations raiders with the help of guest speaker and combat veteran Kirstie Ennis, recipient of the 2019 Pat Tillman Award at the ESPY Awards. Ennis is a former Marine sergeant who lost her leg after a helicopter crash in Afghanistan. After more than 40 surgeries, the 28-year-old veteran is currently on a quest to tackle the Seven Summits on one leg by 2021. Ennis alongside emcee and decorated veteran Derek Herrera will help raise funds for the Marine Raider Foundation, a 501c3 nonprofit that supports World War II Marine Raiders, active-duty and former Marine Raiders and raider families.  https://raideraz.givesmart.com/
