It’s a shimmering spectacle of rhinestones, sequins and jaw-dropping dance moves, and the names of those kicking up their heels for a great cause at one•n•ten’s upcoming “Dancing for one•n•ten” fundraiser will soon be revealed.

Dancing for one•n•ten, the premier annual fundraising event and celebrity ballroom championship for the Phoenix-based organization committed to helping lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer youth, is slated for Sunday, July 28, at the Tempe Center for the Arts, and some of the city’s most dynamic movers and shakers will make a play for the mirror ball.

So, just who can fans and supporters expect to see strut their stuff and try their hand at the likes of the jive, the waltz and the cha-cha at this year’s event? The names of those who will pair up with professional dance partners and compete for the top prize will be revealed between 5:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 7 during an official Cast Reveal Party at Kobalt, where guests will also get first dibs on tickets for the main event.

In addition to helping Valley youth and young adults between the ages of 11 and 24 find housing, social and employment opportunities, one•n•ten works to encourage self-expression, self-acceptance, leadership development and healthy life choices. Dancing for one•n•ten, now in its 12th year, is one of several key fundraising events held throughout the year that make the nonprofit organization’s efforts and achievements possible.

June’s Cast Reveal Party is the kickoff event for the upcoming Dancing for one•n•ten fundraiser, which starts at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 28 at the Tempe Center for the Arts. June’s cast reveal is free to attend, and guests can purchase tickets to the main event there, or at onenten.org, starting Friday, July 7.
