Desert Stages Theatre (DST) announces the Arizona debut of Broadway musical “Disaster!” on Friday, January 11 at 7:30 p.m.

Written by Broadway superstar Seth Rudetsky, the Broadway musical “Disaster!” takes place in the 1970’s, as New York’s hottest A-list celebrities line up for the opening of New York’s newest floating casino and discotheque. As the floating venue takes off, the eccentric group of characters are thrown into trial after trial, as the ship succumbs to several disasters. Earthquakes, tidal waves, killer rats and infernos are just the beginning of these guests’ troubles. “Disaster!” features favorite songs from the 70’s such as Stevie Wonder’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered I’m Yours” and Donna Summer’s “Hot Stuff.” In addition, “Disaster!” will be directed by Gary Crumm, father of Max Crumm who starred in the original Broadway cast of “Disaster.” “Disaster!” is performed by adult actors and one youth actor.

Performances of “Disaster!” will begin on Friday, January 11 at 7:30 p.m., and end on Saturday, February 9. “Disaster!” will play Thursday through Saturdays, at 7:30 p.m. For more information about performance dates and times please visit DesertStages.org.
