Park West shopping center is transforming into holiday headquarters to provide an experience for everyone, even the furriest of friends. Happenings at the West Valley outdoor venue this holiday season can be found below. Park West is located at 9744 W. Northern Ave. in Peoria.

Sensory-Friendly Santa

Park West is hosting its Sensory-Friendly Santa Cares event on Sunday, Dec. 9, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. This partnership with Cherry Hill Programs and Autism Speaksprovides a Santa experience for families with kids and adults with special needs of all kinds. Schedule a time with Santa in a sensory-safe, quiet and inviting environment. Visits with Santa are welcome and always free, and photo packages are available for purchase. Space is limited and families are encouraged to reserve a time in advance by visiting shopparkwest.com under the events section or at autismspeaks.org/santa.

The Santa Experience

Nothing gets kids giddy for Christmas morning quite like a visit with Santa to tell him what presents should be placed under the tree. Santa arrives at Park West for visits on Black Friday (Nov. 23) and stays until Christmas Eve. Visits with Santa are always free and photo packages are available for purchase. Santa for Your Pets

Time to find out if your pet is on this year’s naughty or nice list. There are two opportunities for furry friends to visit with Santa and pose for that iconic picture. Photo packages are available for purchase. Event times are listed below.

Thursday, Dec. 13 – 5 to 7 p.m.

Sunday, Dec. 16 – 10 a.m. to noon

Holiday Extravaganza

Christmas wouldn’t be complete without a family-friendly event to put people in the holiday spirit. Join Mrs. Claus, stilt walkers, balloon artists and face painters on Saturday, Dec. 16 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Park West. Crafts for the kids include snow globe and ornament decorating. Grimaldi’s will also be passing out their complimentary cannolis.
