Description

WayneFest

Wayne Fest is a micro-music festival being held in Coronado Park near 12th Street and McDowell on October 27 from 4 to 9 p.m.

WayneFest will feature several bands across a variety of genres, including local favorites Las Chollas Peligrosas, Fairy Bones, House of Stairs, Black Market and introducing Gus D. Wynns and the Breakers.

Local restaurants will join in the festivities as well, with special menus from Gallo Blanco, Ollie Vaughn’s, Welcome Diner and Bri, as well as AZ Pops.

Attendees can pay $20 for concert entrance and receive three tickets to sample the food vendors. In addition, beer will be provided by Four Peaks and will be available for additional fees.

A limited amount of self-parking is available in the open lot at the northeast corner of McDowell and 12th St. Carpooling, ride sharing, and public transportation is encouraged.

Additional details are available on the event website, www.waynefestphx.com.

WayneFest is a celebration of Coronado’s musical past, but even more importantly, an introduction to its musical present. According to event creator Mike Logan, “Coronado has been doing amazing things in terms of its creativity, artistry, and sense of community. This is a chance for us to share it with the broader Phoenix community.”

This event was made possible by the Coronado Neighborhood Association. Proceeds from WayneFest will go the the Coronado Neighborhood Association and will help to fund programs like the community toolshed, community garden, animal welfare, Blockwatch, murals, kids activities, little free libraries and community cleanups. One dollar from each ticket purchased will be donated to the music program at North High School.
