The JDRF Arizona Chapter will host its annual Promise Ball Gala on Saturday, November 10, 2018 to help fund a cure for type 1 diabetes. The black-tie fundraiser themed “Together We Shine” will be held at The Phoenician Resort in Scottsdale. The premier event includes live and silent auctions, dinner and entertainment. Last year, the chapter raised nearly $1.3 million at the sold-out gala.

WHAT:               The Promise Ball Gala is a local fundraising event to benefit the JDRF Arizona Chapter. This annual event draws society and industry leaders from across the Valley, driven to support a great cause while enjoying entertainment, food and fun.

WHY:                  Funds raised at the JDRF Promise Ball Gala go directly to research and programs for type 1 diabetes in Arizona and nationwide. Since 2009, the local chapter has raised more than $10 million through its fundraising galas.

This year’s Promise Ball Gala Honorees, Jessica Gabbay and the Gabbay family, will be recognized for their outstanding commitment to JDRF’s vision of a world without type 1 diabetes. KSAZ-TV Anchor Syleste Rodriguez will serve as the Emcee of the event, Letitia Frye will return as the auctioneer and this year’s event chair is Colleen Steinberg.

                                The silent auction will feature hundreds of one-of-a-kind items, gifts and packages to bid on. This year, JDRF will raffle off a new 2018 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited Sport 4x4. A maximum of 1,000 tickets will be sold for this special item. The Jeep Wrangler was generously donated by Tempe Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, Ram, Kia and 100 percent of proceeds from the raffle benefit JDRF. Some of the live auction items include all-inclusive vacations, VIP tickets to a taping of Jimmy Kimmel, beautiful acrylic paintings by JDRF youth ambassadors and local artist Christopher Gerlings, and an adorable puppy.
