Summer 2018 Beer Camp Provides Spirited Summer Fun for Grown Ups

The Phoenix Ale Brewery Central Kitchen Hosts Beer-themed Activities for Adults from Mon., July 23 through Sun., July 29

There’s no better way to reward yourself for surviving months of hauling kids to summer camps or relive the carefree days of summers past than to attend camp yourself – Summer 2018 Central Kitchen Beer Camp at The Phoenix Ale Brewery Central Kitchen.

The one-week experience, which takes place Mon., July 23 through Sun., July 29 includes spirited activities for adults, ranging from an evening with renowned brewmaster Mike Hess, to a Beer Training Boot Camp, to beer arts and crafts, to Barre at the Bar and Brew-lette, a roulette-based game of chance.

Special beer-themed activities include:

Summer 2018 Beer Camp

Mon., July 23 – Sun., July 29 – Brew-lette

In this brew-themed version of roulette, you get a chance to spin the wheel with every purchase of a Phoenix Ale Brew. Your prize is determined by where the Brew-lette wheel lands, and you will win either a discount off of your beer, meal or Buy a Buddy a Brew gift for someone else. All participants will also be entered into a drawing to win a free “Hoppy Hour for Eight Buddies,” a $100 value.

Wed., July 25, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. – Games: Hump Day Trivia

Be the first to participate in the new Phoenix Ale Brewery Central Kitchen Trivia Night that will debut during Beer Camp. Prizes will be awarded during each round with grand prizes for the top three teams.

Thurs., July 26, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. – Special Interest Activity: Summerfest

Central Kitchen is bringing San Diego to Phoenix for a one-night Summerfest Beer Dinner featuring Mike Hess Brewing. The five-course meal, complete with beer pairings, will include a discussion with renowned regional brewmaster and Hess Brewery owner Mike Hess. Summerfest seating is limited and costs $45 per person plus tax and gratuity. Register to attend through EventBrite.

Sat., July 28, 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. – Sports & Recreation: Barre at the Bar

Join TenPoint5SM Barre Studio for a special barre workout surrounding the Phoenix Ale Brewery Central Kitchen bar. Sat., July 28, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. – Special Interest Class: Beer Training Boot Camp

It’s boot camp, for the beer lover! What are the different styles of beer? How can you tell them apart? How can you know which beers pair best with different foods? Brooklyn Brewery Representative and Cicerone Ben Thompson will teach attendees all of the craft brew basics during this two-hour introductory beer training. Attendees will enjoy a flight of four beers paired with campfire snacks. House made jerky will be available during the 1-3 p.m. training, and artisanal popcorn will highlight the 3-5 p.m. training. Seating is limited. Tickets are $20 per person plus tax and gratuity and are available at this EventBrite link for the 1-3 p.m. training and this Eventbrite link for the 3-5 p.m. training.

Sun., July 29, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. – Arts & Crafts: Jenga Block Painting

Join The Phoenix Ale Brewery Central Kitchen to create a community game of Jenga. Guests are invited to paint giant Jenga blocks to be used as part of an oversized Jenga yard game in our courtyard. The special event costs $10 to personalize a Jenga block. The $10 fee includes a pint of Phoenix Ale brew, a glass of house wine or a soft drink. Completed blocks will be unveiled on Sat., Aug. 4 and stored in the Central Kitchen courtyard for ongoing use.
