Description
The inaugural Flower Bomb Festival will bring thousands of paper flower works from more than 20 local artists to The District at Tempe Marketplace on Saturday, May 19 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Tempe Marketplace and the Arizona Business Committee for the Arts (AZBCA) will collaborate to grow a breathtaking new public art installation to adorn the walkways, pathways and skyways of the shopping center.
The one-day festival will bring together students, artists and community members to create one the largest community-developed art exhibits in Arizona, featuring paper flowers of all kinds, including giant daisies, colorful carnations, tiny tulips and origami roses. Beyond paper art, artists will create large-scale flower paintings during the festival.
Plus, families can get in on the action! Kids and adults are invited to create and take home their own free folded paper flowers as well as enjoy other crafts and entertainment.
Weather permitting, the Flower Bomb paper flower installation will stay on display at Tempe Marketplace for weeks following the festival. Tempe Marketplace is located at 2000 E. Rio Salado Pkwy., Tempe. For more information, visit www.tempemarketplace.com.
