(Phoenix) - Xavier College Preparatory will host its 10th annual "Girls Have IT Day!" on Friday, March 16th from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Xavier's campus, which is located at 4710 North Fifth Street in Phoenix."Girls Have IT Day!" promotes young women's involvement in science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM).  The event will be part of this year's Arizona SciTech Festival and is generously supported by the Freeport-McMoRan Copper and Gold Foundation.The event will include an assembly dedicated to women in STEAM, more than 40 hands-on, STEAM-focused activities hosted by members of many of Xavier's 75+ student clubs and local STEAM-related businesses, and multiple other opportunities for the middle school students to fully engage in STEAM learning.  Paige Bernier, a graduate of Xavier's Class of 2010 and a software engineer at New Relic, a technology company in Portland, Oregon, will be this year's guest speaker.
