Description

For one night only, on January 25, the rooftop of the
Arizona Science Center will explode with flames, lava and smoke in a
re-creation of the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 A.D. The ash and debris
from Vesuvius' unpredicted eruption both destroyed the city of Pompeii and
also remarkably preserved it. The special event will feature jets of real
fire, plumes of smoke and rivers of lava, all in celebration of the
incredible POMPEII: THE EXHIBITION that runs until May 28. Arizona Science
Center is partnering with a local production company, who are responsible
for out-of-this-world festival experiences at Bonnaroo, Electric Daisy
Carnival and Lost Lake Festival, to create the immersive volcanic
experience. The Science Center will remain open until 9 p.m. that evening,
including timed-entry into POMPEII: THE EXHIBITION. The evening will have an
explosive twist complete with fiery science demonstrations, volcano-themed
activities, photo-ops and specialty Pompeii-inspired drinks for guests 21
and over! Eruption viewing is free to the public. General admission for the
Science Center and additional activities is $18 for adults and $13 for
children. There is an additional cost to enter POMPEII: THE EXHIBITION.
