Description

The Verde Valley Art Gallery of Yavapai College will host a reception opening a group exhibition of local and national ceramic artists who are working to rebuild and reimagine Reitz Ranch in Clarkdale, Arizona.  Complimentary appetizers will be offered and a cash wine bar will be hosted by the College’s award-winning Southwest Wine Center.  The Reitz Ranch is part of the art legacy of world-renowned clay artist and educator Don Reitz, who passed away in 2014. Recently purchased by artist by Sheryl Leigh-DaVault and her husband Ted DaVault, the Reitz Ranch is being revitalized by the couple and a team of artists.  The group show is a celebration of Don Reitz, considered one of the fathers of modern ceramics, as well as the growing arts program and community at the Ranch.  Several pieces by Don Reitz will be shown courtesy of the Reitz Family Trust.  The show will also highlight work by the following artists affiliated with the Ranch:  Kent Adams, Kelley E. Foy, Ian Hall, Jeff Heeg, Nena Jacobs, Heidi Kreitchet, Frank Krevens, Matt Long, Lawrence Meagher, Ben Roti, Mat Rude, Tim Sinson, Preston Tolbert, Sara Tolbert, and Dexter Woods.   The show will run from January 16, 2018 through February 9, 2018 during normal gallery hours.
