The Scottsdale Philharmonic will kick off its 2018 Concert Series with a free classical music concert on Sunday, Feb. 18, from 4-6 p.m. at the Scottsdale Bible Church, 7601 E Shea Blvd., Scottsdale.

The Scottsdale Philharmonic started presenting its free concerts to the community in 2012 to an audience of several hundred people. Attendance for each concert has grown to nearly 2,000 people.

Composers and pieces to be performed by the Philharmonic on Feb. 18 include:

-         Gershwin, Rhapsody in Blue

with Walter Cosand, Solo Pianist

-         Prokofiev, Peter and the Wolf

-         Dvorak, The Golden Spinning Wheel

“People of all ages will enjoy this performance.” says Joy Partridge, President and Co-founder of the Scottsdale Philharmonic. “We have over 120 volunteers which includes 75 professional musicians, dedicated board members and volunteers who share their time and talent for each concert.”

Dates for other free concerts scheduled in 2018 include: April 15, May 20, Oct. 14 and Nov. 18. Sign up for email notifications of all the free concerts at www.ScottsdalePhilharmonic.com. For a $15 tax-deductible donation, attendees can have a VIP preferred seat—payable on the website. Doors open at 3 p.m. for each concert, and free parking is available at the Scottsdale Bible Church.
