This October, Westgate Entertainment District is getting into the fall spirit and hosting a number of events throughout the month for all ages and interests.With temperatures cooling, guests can enjoy the autumn air with a variety of outdoor activities including the annual Touch A Truck event where families can experience industrial trucks firsthand; free live country music on Fridays and Saturdays; the 14th annual classic car show; Crawloween, a Halloween-themed bar crawl; and creepy candy crawl, the first-ever family friendly Halloween bash.With more than 20 restaurants, bars, entertainment venues and retailers, there’s no shortage of things to do, see, eat or drink at Westgate.  

Touch A Truck will be hosted on Saturday, Oct. 21, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Kids and adults are invited to Westgate to experience industrial trucks firsthand at the Walmart Transportation “Touch A Truck” event. In conjunction with the City of Glendale Public Facilities, Recreation and Special Events Department, the event drew over 8,000 attendees last year, and promises to be even more popular this time around.Truck lovers and tiny tots alike are encouraged to explore these giant vehicles and get a look into the controls and operations from the driver’s point-of-view with over 20 machines on display.

Special activities for children will also include inflatables, a sand play area, a miniature roadway with toy vehicles and The Big Dig where children can try their hand at scooping sand with a contraption that works like a backhoe. New this year will be a Bike Rodeo where children ages 5-13 can bring or ride their bicycle to participate. The rodeo will feature a skills training course, bicycle inspection station, bicycle safety tips and helmet fitting.
