“Sea” of Cyclists to Ride Tour de Scottsdale on October 8 

14th Annual Tour de Scottsdale benefiting the McDowell Sonoran Conservancy will have nearly 2,000 cyclists from Arizona, and as far away as Germany, riding its 30- and 70-mile courses WHAT:

14th Annual Tour de Scottsdale-The event features a 70-mile and 30-mile citizen’s ride with up to 2,000 cyclists. The event beneficiary is the McDowell Sonoran Conservancy, a nonprofit conservation organization in Scottsdale that protects and promotes the McDowell Sonoran Preserve. The Tour de Scottsdale donates 100 percent of sponsorship proceeds to the conservancy and has raised over $500,000 to date. For more information, visit TourdeScottsdale.net

  • Continuous sea of up to 2,000 cyclists will ride through Market Street at DC Ranch embarking on 70- and 30-mile rides across the Northeastern Valley including north Scottsdale, Rio Verde and Fountain Hills. Cyclists will begin arriving at 5:30 a.m., start the Tour de Scottsdale at 6:30 a.m. - which take about 40-minutes for cyclists to all exit - and then the first cyclists return around 8:15 a.m.
  • Scottsdale’s Todd Key, U.S. Paralympic Para-cyclist, USA Team member/resident athlete will be riding and can share his inspiring story, along with corporate teams like Go Daddy’s team of 200 employees
  • Tour de Scottsdale Spokesperson Gabi Enriquez can talk about the event, cyclists and teams, course, positive impact on the local community, and contributions to the McDowell Sonoran Conservancy
  • Families and friends cheering on the crowd will be available for interviews
  • Expo of local small businesses will be set up with products on display
  • Live band, Rock Lobster, starts at 8 a.m. to entertain the cyclists as they return
