Magma’s Last Gasp!                                                             Wednesday, July 19, 5:30 pm

Did you know that all of north Scottsdale and vicinity once was part of a huge bubble of magma? More than a billion years ago, a huge bubble of 2,000 degree Fahrenheit magma got trapped 10 km beneath our feet and began to cool.  Learn what happened as the last bit of magma finally turned into solid rock and what that tells us about how the McDowells were formed.
