Description

On February 16, 2017, at 7pm, at the Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix, Grammy Award winner and world renowned-jazz superstar Paul McCandless will be performing compositions from his solo records.  McCandless is performing this music live across the world for the first time in 20 years.  Accompanying him will be the renowned Bay Area jazz trio Charged Particles.

McCandless is a Grammy-winner, saxophonist and reed player, known best for his work with the super group of jazz, Oregon. He has recently returned to the stage for the first time in decades as a leader.  McCandless has teamed up with the San Francisco Bay Area jazz trio Charged Particles, who are celebrating their 25th anniversary performing.  This collaboration will give fans the first chance in a long time to hear Paul fronting a band.

The group has been performing McCandless' compositionally complex and hard-hitting music in venues across the country, including the prestigious jazz club Yoshi’s San Francisco and have appeared in the famed Birdland in New York City, Blues Alley in Washington, DC, the Stanford Jazz Festival, the San Luis Obispo Jazz Festival, the Erie Pennsylvania Blues and Jazz Festival, the Deer Head Inn near Philadelphia, and many other venues.
