First Lady to Visit Tucson

First Lady Michelle Obama will be at the Tucson Convention Center Monday, April 30th. Her appearance, sponsored by Obama for America and The Arizona Finance Committee, will be marked with a performance by musical group Calexico. Event tickets range from $150 all the way up to $10,000, which includes a photo with the First Lady, program acknowledgment and premium event seating. Monday's festivities begin at 3:30 p.m.

The winner of the 7th annual Spirit of Cotton Award is Raul Mendoza, coach of the Holbrook High School boys basketball team, in Holbrook, Arizona. Phoenix Suns Charities will honor Coach Mendoza when he and a group of well-wishers attend the Suns-Spurs game on Wednesday, April 25 at US Airways Center.  Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.

PHX Nonprofit Raises $70K for Breast Cancer

Phoenix based nonprofit, the Mountains of Hope Foundation raised $70,000 for advanced stage breast cancer at their benefit dinner on March 22, 2012. The charity event, Cookin' for a Cure at Eddie's House on Thursday March 22. made sure that 100% of the funds raised were invested in Advanced Breast Cancer Research, at the Phoenix based TGen Foundation.
