Get in the St. Patrick's Day spirit March 12 & 13 as The Musical Instrument Museum is presenting the music and culture of the Emerald Isle with a weekend of special performances and activities. Soak in the music and culture of Ireland with live performances, an Irish-inspired lunch menu, and more family-friendly activities.  All activities are included with paid museum admission; free for members. 

Activities occur on both days unless noted: 

Craft: Spoons 

9:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m. 

Make your own version of this percussive folk instrument using materials you might find  in your kitchen. 

Photo Booth 

9:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m. 

Have your picture taken in our hands-free photo booth! Digitally share your pictures and  tag us with #MIMphx for a chance to be featured on our social media. 

Performance: Scott Jeffers 

10:30 a.m. 

Enjoy an energetic solo performance by violinist and vocalist Scott Jeffers of Traveler. 

Pop-Up Performance: Celtic Duo (Saturday Only

11:30 a.m. 

Listen as harpist Jocelyn Obermeyer and vocalist Michael McCall perform as a duo in this  Irish themed pop-up concert. 

Performance: Taylor Morris (Saturday Only

12:30 p.m. 

Join local violinist and fiddler Taylor Morris for a performance highlighting the joy, depth,  and musicality of Irish fiddling. 

Performance: Bracken School of Irish Dance (Sunday Only

12:30 p.m. 

Witness the thrill of Irish step dancing! Watch a performance by students from the  Chandler’s Bracken School of Irish Dance.

Curator Talk: Tradition and Change—MIM’s Irish Instruments 

1:15 p.m. 

Irish traditional music has contributed to Ireland’s national identity and continues to  inspire musicians and instrument makers around the world. Hear Richard Walter, PhD,  curator for United States / Canada and Europe, discuss iconic Irish musical instruments  and performance traditions with a special focus on the highlights in MIM’s Ireland  exhibit. 

Dance Workshop 

2:30 p.m. 

Experience the high kicks and rhythmic footwork of Irish step dancing at a workshop  presented by the Bracken School of Irish Dance. 

Performance: Kilted Spirit (Sunday Only

3:15 p.m. 

Celebrate traditional and modern Celtic music with a lively set of Irish rock from Kilted  Spirit. 

Performance: Bracken School of Irish Dance (Saturday Only

3:30 p.m.
