As Arizona’s high season kicks into gear, golfers from around the country will make their way to the Grand Canyon State to tee up and revel in the country’s best winter weather.

As both Tucson and Phoenix prepare to host their own PGA Tour events, fans from around the state have an exceptional pro golf itinerary at their fingertips. And visitors can take a break from their own games to catch up on those of the professionals.

Tickets are on sale now for the World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship featuring the world's top 64 professional golfers playing February 21-27, 2011 at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Dove Mountain, in Marana, northwest of Tucson. Preliminary sales of tickets will be through Ticket Master.

The venue hosting the Accenture Match Play Championships has received numerous accolades since it opened in 2009. The Ritz-Carlton Dove Mountains stellar facility and golf course has clearly become a favorite among the world’s best players. However, it is the fans who get an up close look at the course in all its tournament-ready glory. Trekking the Jack Nicklaus designed course is an enjoyable endeavor all in it’s own. You don’t even have to be playing the course to feel a sense of rejuvenation provoked by the views from around the course. The hilly nature of certain areas of the course make it optimal for spectator viewing, so whether your style is to sit and see or walk and watch, this course has it all.

Fans slightly northward in the Phoenix Metro Area can also begin to purchase tickets for the Waste Management Phoenix Open taking place at TPC Scottsdale during Super Bowl Weekend. Tournament week will begin Jan 31st and go until the last putt drops on February 6th. General admission tickets are $25 and kids 17 and under receive free entry when accompanied by an adult. Leading up to the event, tickets can be purchased through Ticket Master online at www.ticketmaster.com or at your local Fry’s Marketplace.

While the rowdy fans at the famed 16th hole is one of the main draws, this tournament provides a gallery experience like no other around lesser known parts of the course. Take a hike through the back nine of the course (westward toward Scottsdale Road) and you’ll find a no man’s land equipped with food and beverage vendors, open seating and few spectators to try to see over.

What ever your golfing appetite, this time of year Arizona truly is the place to be.
