There has never been a better time to grab a bite to eat in Tucson.
So far, 2011 has proved to be a power push for area eateries to revamp their menus, open new concepts and evolve in a short period of time. Many Tucson restaurants are delivering on unspoken new years resolutions—packed tables and lines to get in the door are sure signs of that. Yet even with exceptional new cuisine on the menu, some restaurants find it difficult to harness the excitement and enthusiasm that comes with introducing new ideas for the long-term. Enter Ventura Pacific Development. While you may not have heard of the name, you’ve definitely seen their work around Tucson’s hottest places to get a table.
Doug Peery and Megan Escobar, the couple behind Ventura Pacific Development, have been quite busy this past year and there is no sign of things slowing down anytime soon. Some of the exciting projects they worked on in 2010 include: Tavolino Ristorante Italiano, The abbey and DOWNTOWN Kitchen and Cocktails.
Restaurants aren’t the only jobs that Ventura Pacific contracts, but they have found a niche in the Tucson restaurant community. Escobar says,” They are just the most fun! To watch them develop and come to fruition is truly amazing. We are both native Tucsonans and we’re passionate about seeing local businesses and restaurants thrive and we want to support them in any way we can.”
While Ventura Pacific is a new company, only a little over a year old, they collectively have 20+ years of experience. Peery and Escobar both hold client relationships in the highest regard and take the time to give their clients what they want while staying on time and in their budget. “I don’t want to get so big that I can’t go to every job,” said Peery.
Ventura Pacific is already hard at work on two new restaurant ventures opening the beginning of this year- Pasco Kitchen & Lounge, the first solo restaurant from acclaimed Chef, Ramiro Scavo (Fox Restaurant Group, The MaRKet Group and 2009 Iron Chef Tucson Winner) and Noble Hops Gastropub, the second concept from the owners of Vero Amore (Swan & Ft. Lowell and Dove Mtn.).
