Kathy Shayna Shocket has the inside scoop on the stories that make headlines.
Kathy takes us inside the private party at Silverleaf Club and reveals Gavin's opening acts.
Under a magnificent moon and the beauty of the McDowell Mountains, Gavin DeGraw performed at the private members party at Silverleaf Country Club in north Scottsdale.
The popular singer-musician who recently opened for Billy Joel in Louisville and Cleveland; also had some great opening acts of his own! The all girl rock electric string quartet Phat Strad took to the stage, followed by Drew Brown, the chairman of the board of DMB, who introduced Gavin to the crowd of 600 partygoers.
Then there was the opening “act” that literally set the scene for Gavin’s big performance. It was the unique ambiance of the Silverleaf Club.
Nestled within the secluded canyons and valleys of the McDowell Mountains and sprawling 18- hole Tom Weiskopf designed golf course, the tiered patio outside the Mediterranean-Style clubhouse, was the perfect setting for this vibrant and elegant evening!
The array of luxurious dinner stations boasting culinary delights such as shrimp, King crab legs , fish tacos, a carving station, cappuccinos and a desert bar. Hundreds of partygoers filled the dance floor enjoying an up close and personal concert experience. It was especially electrifying because Gavin is riding the wave of success. In addition to opening for several Billy Joel concerts, his music continues to propel to the top of the charts including “Not Over You” and I Don’t Want to Be” which was the theme song for the TV show “One Tree Hill”
By the way... the closing act? It was the DELICIOUS scene of the four food trucks stationed near the parking lot, including The Grilled Cheese Truck... filled with late night snacks.. for the ride home!
