In a state where 1 in 36 individuals are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, finding the right mix of resources, support, and community can often feel like an overwhelming journey. For many Arizona families, the challenge isn’t just accessing services, it’s knowing where to begin. That’s exactly where the 10th annual Autism Expo steps in, offering a welcoming, one-stop environment designed to connect neurodivergent individuals, caregivers, and professionals with the tools they need to thrive.

Hosted by the Arizona Autism Coalition, this milestone event returns to Phoenix on April 11, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Desert Willow Conference Center. As the largest free resource fair of its kind in the state, the expo is expected to draw more than 1,000 attendees and feature over 80 vendors and community partners, all dedicated to supporting Arizona’s autism community. From therapy providers and specialized schools to legal experts and workforce development organizations, the event creates an opportunity for families to explore a wide range of services in one place, at their own pace. Throughout the day, attendees can also take part in five educational info sessions covering topics that matter most to families, including ethical practices in autism care, navigating service systems, academic success strategies, financial planning through special needs trusts, and pathways to employment and independence.

These sessions are designed to empower families with practical knowledge while fostering confidence in the decisions they make for their loved ones. This year’s expo introduces new elements that further expand its commitment to inclusivity and community. A Neurodivergent Marketplace will spotlight creators and entrepreneurs within the neurodivergent community, while a dedicated Sensory Room offers a calm, supportive space for attendees who may need a break from the day’s activity. Guests can also enjoy complimentary tote bags, snacks, bottled water, and free parking, along with the chance to participate in a raffle featuring prizes like an 11th generation iPad and experiences from the Arizona Diamondbacks, Butterfly Wonderland, Desert Botanical Garden, Phoenix Zoo, and SRP.

“There is no one single roadmap that works for every individual or family,” said Ann Monahan, Board President of the Arizona Autism Coalition. “Our goal with the Autism Expo is to create a space where families feel empowered, supported, and connected to resources that truly meet them where they are. Reaching our 10th year is a testament to how vital this event has become for our community.”

That sense of connection is what continues to make the expo such an impactful experience year after year. For families just beginning their journey, it can be a turning point, an opportunity to replace uncertainty with clarity and isolation with community. “We connected with so many incredible people and resources at the expo,” shared a past participant. “As a family just beginning this journey, it made a world of difference for us.”

With its largest vendor lineup yet, expanded programming, and a decade-long legacy of service, the Autism Expo remains a cornerstone event for Arizona’s neurodivergent community, proving that when resources, education, and compassion come together under one roof, meaningful support is never out of reach.
