Jeri Williams:

Children’s name(s) and age(s): Alan Travis (24) and Cody Jerard (22)

What is your biggest joy in being a mom? Biggest struggle? Joy: When the four of us are together. Second joy: Seeing the both of my sons develop into amazing men. Biggest struggle: Moving from telling them what to do to offering advice, when asked. Parenting adults.

What has been your proudest moment as a mother? Watching Cody walk when he received a double AA SBCC and watching Alan walk into the arena as a Phoenix Sun.

Looking back, what advice would you give to yourself as a new mom? Nothing is perfect, go with the flow. If no one is bleeding or there are no broken bones, life is good and you will be a great mom.

Describe your perfect day with your family. A meal with my family and a family activity, such as water sports in the ocean.

How do you like to celebrate Mother’s Day? A home-cooked meal with my sons.

Alan Williams:

What is your biggest joy in Jeri being your mother? She is a super mom, there is nothing she can’t do or not handle. If there is ever anything my brother or I  need, she is there 24/7 helping us along the way. She is my life manager, always making sure I’m on the right path.

When have you been proudest of her? Right now! She has been through a lot during her career. The fact that she is now the Chief of Police in a major city is a testament to her hard work and dedication.

What is the most important lesson she has taught you? It’s hard to single out just one because she taught me many lessons.

-          It takes hard work to get anything done.

-          If you want to be something don’t give up on it.

-          The love of your family is unconditional and you will always have them as your support system, no matter what happens.

Describe your perfect day with your family. Just when the four of us are together. Anything we do all together is guaranteed to be a great time.

How do you like to celebrate Mother’s Day? We usually do a “dinner” which normally happens around 3 p.m. or 4 p.m. We have everyone at the house from both sides of the family and my mom cooks. She is the designated chef of the family because she is by far the best cook. It sounds funny that on Mother’s Day she is the one who prepares the meal, but she’s so great in the kitchen and her food makes our entire family happy.
