The Girls Rule Foundation, an Arizona-based organization recognized for its impactful programs and workshops that foster confidence and leadership in young girls across the nation, is teaming up with the women-focused nonprofits Reaching Teen Hearts and Know Cares to bring its sixth-annual Girls Change the World Leadership Summit to Tempe High School on April 26.

This dynamic event is specially designed for teen girls and aims to empower them with essential skills in leadership, confidence, and financial literacy. The summit will provide participants with the tools needed to thrive in life, school, and future careers. Running from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the event promises a day of skill-building activities, interactive sessions, insights from industry leaders, prizes, t-shirts, lunch, and exciting giveaways.

Attendees will have the chance to engage with inspiring female leaders from over 20 diverse industries, discovering the strengths that have propelled these women to success. They will also learn how to build resilience and gain practical strategies for achieving their goals and dreams. In addition, participants will receive valuable guidance on how to apply for college scholarships, along with access to a list of over 100 scholarship opportunities. A robust lineup of more than ten speakers will keep the event energized and enriching.

“Programs like these are crucial during developmental years,” Co-Founder Dena Patton said. “By encouraging teen girls to participate, we give them the tools to build confidence, plan for their futures, and prepare for life beyond high school.”

One of the most anticipated aspects of the summit is the Girls Change the World Scholarship & Mentoring Award, which will recognize five outstanding Arizona juniors and seniors. These young women, who demonstrate leadership with kindness and a commitment to making a difference, will be awarded $3,500 in scholarship funds. The scholarships include three $500 awards and two $1,000 awards. Parents and teachers can submit nominations online until midnight on March 25.

Nominees will be celebrated at the summit, with all recipients receiving certificates and photos, and the winners being announced on stage. In addition, the winners will each receive three months of mentorship to support their educational journeys beyond high school. Participants can also earn leadership and community service hours, which are often required for various academic or extracurricular activities, by attending the summit. Tickets are priced between $25 and $40.
