Arcadia High student Jordan Sucato is leading the charge for animal rights in Arizona. As the founder of Laws for Paws, a youth-led nonprofit, Jordan has combined advocacy, compassion, and action to protect vulnerable animals both through legislative efforts and hands-on relief.

Launched in 2024, Laws for Paws was born out of Jordan’s lifelong passion for helping animals. That passion was first sparked when she began volunteering with her mother at Luv of Dogz Fund, a nonprofit that supports rescued and abandoned dogs.

Laws for Paws has made a significant impact. The organization has raised over $18,000, distributed more than 1,175 pairs of protective dog boots to shield paws from Arizona’s scorching pavement, and delivered hundreds of care packages to unhoused pets and underserved communities.

The nonprofit’s mission is clear: “to be a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves." Dogs Day Out AZ is one of their strongest partners. They help distribute the boots, organize care package deliveries, and run weekly community outreaches that provide aid to homeless individuals and their pets.

Laws for Paws works on the ground through projects like Bear’s Boots, a heartfelt initiative named in memory of the family's beloved Belgian Malinois, Bear. Through Bear’s Boots, Laws for Paws purchases dog booties and assembles care packages to distribute through outreach events. To learn more or support the cause, visit lawsforpaws.org.
