Dance Theatre Returns to ASU Gammage

In the legendary Firebird, the timeless Russian folk tale of love triumphing over evil is reimagined in a lush Caribbean world. John Taras’ powerful choreography, set to Stravinsky’s iconic score, comes alive through Geoffrey Holder’s unforgettable sets and costumes.

A Dance Theatre of Harlem signature classic, Firebird debuted in 1982 and has thrilled audiences around the globe. As The New York Times raved, “…it does one thing other versions do not – send its audience into a whooping spell of delirium.”
