Description

With the 2019 Centennial commemoration of Grand Canyon National Park kicking off on Founders Day, February 26th, Grand Canyon Conservancy and Grand Canyon National Park present a calendar of free events for the year.

Events at the canyon include the Centennial celebration on February 26, 2019, a fun-filled Summerfest & Star Party on the South and North Rims in June and other special performances and presentations throughout the year.

Before kicking off Grand Canyon’s Founders Day celebration with cake and a concert by the Flagstaff and Grand Canyon schools choir, join a team of heroes who help preserve and protect the park with a public litter pick-up. Following this, stop by the visitor center to sign the park’s birthday card and attend the many cultural demonstrations at the Historic Village, Visitor Center and Desert View. A special evening program of speakers will then discuss the important relationship between Grand Canyon and the park’s 11 traditionally associated tribes. Stick around for rare views of the Milky Way and learn about how the park has worked to become an International Dark Sky Park by replacing nearly 3,500 lighting fixtures.

See you at the Canyon!
