El Chorro Adds New Management
Longtime Valley favorite El Chorro has made two additions to its management team. Peter Brown will serve as bar manager while Sheila Gaskell was named administrative assistant.
Job Search Competition for a "Wave Master"
Tomorrow, The Westin Kielrand Resort & Spa will be opening up a nationwide search for the Kierland Wave Master. It’s a full-time position for the person who will oversee our FlowRider operation. The competition will start with a video submission and end with a ‘Surf-Off’ for the finalists on our opening weekend. The winner gets the job!

AZ Jazz Festival Canceled
The Board of Directors of Sedona Jazz on the Rocks has made a difficult decision not to hold a festival in the fall of 2012. The current economic environment that is challenging all of us – was a key driver in the decision to cancel this year. Non-profits are struggling across the country and we felt it was more productive to gear up for a successful festival in 2013 when the economy should be healthier.
We already have taken significant steps to weather the financial storm, including reducing our administrative costs by closing the office and suspending phone service and webpage.
Irish Pub Closes in Scottsdale
O'Donoghue's Irish Pub in north Scottsdale will close this Friday, June 22 after a toast to the staff.
