AZ Giving Spotlight: Jen Baugh of Healing Hearts Animal Rescue and Refuge

Jen Brumbaugh, Executive Director of Healing Hearts Animal Rescue and Refuge, sat down with AFM to discuss the need for an animal refuge in Arizona and some of their recent cases. The organization is growing to meet increasing demands and they hope to one day reach their goal of providing a “forever home” and a safe place for all animals in need.

AZ Giving Spotlight: Maya Thompson from The Ronan Thompson Foundation

Maya Thompson lost her son, Ronan, to neuroblastoma, three days before his fourth birthday in May 2011. The tragic loss gave life to something positive when Thompson decided to establish The Ronan Thompson Foundation in memory of her son. Recently, country superstar Taylor Swift performed a song she wrote in honor of Ronan and his battle, which has since increased public awareness about the organization.

The largest funder of animal-welfare efforts in North America, PetSmart Charities has provided $134 million in grants and programs benefiting animal welfare organizations.
