International Rescue Committee

Mission: Since opening our doors in 1994, International Rescue Committee Phoenix has resettled over 10,000 refugees: men, women and children who have fled their countries of origin as a result of violent persecution, oppression, or armed conflict and are unable to return home. Refugees typically arrive in the U.S. with little more than the clothes on their backs, often after spending many long years in refugee camps, cut off from normal life. Consequently, they frequently lack the basic foundation to begin to rebuild their lives in the U.S. The IRC Phoenix offers comprehensive services from the first day a refugee sets foot in Arizona, ensuring their success as they rebuild their lives, no longer surviving, but thriving.
