The mission of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Consistent with the vision of our Founder Danny Thomas, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family's ability to pay. The average cost of pediatric cancer treatment is over $500,000 per incident, but the cost can go significantly higher. No family ever receives a bill for treatment, travel, housing or food while their child is a patient at St. Jude, so that they can focus on helping their child to live.
